"My fitness journey over the last 2 years has been a whirlwind. Spanning from absolutely nothing (even as far as taking the lift just one floor) to being healthily obsessed with wanting to train all the time. After catching the fitness bug and shoehorning it into my already hectic lifestyle, I was introduced into the world of boxing. This has probably been the best decision I have ever made. The way my body changed and my strength increased was amazing. There was no turning back and only a year later I have been in the ring 3 times with 3 wins under my belt.

 

I came across Steve on Instagram before chatting about diets, fitness and goals. What was different about Steve is his ability to change mindset. I have never been able to stick to a diet or focus for long enough to achieve my goals. My attention span for things like running was low and I was not the competitive person I should have been as a boxer. After getting to know Steve, it took only one conversation for me to not only adapt my diet, and enjoy it, but stick to it. Yes it was hard, I'd had bread every morning and chocolate (without fail) everyday for as long as I can remember. And although I wasn't gaining any weight due to how heavily I trained, I had plateaued, and having had 2 fights cancelled, my morale and motivation was low.

After 2 weeks on a new diet plan, I noticed massive differences in my body, including weight loss, more definition and oddly, although I was consuming less calories, an increase in energy and motivation. Since I began with Steve I have hardly touched chocolate or bread. So that's when I decided to take Steve on as a trainer to push me closer towards my goals. I realised that if he could make this much of a difference through a conversation, then the limits in the gym were endless. He was based 45 minutes from where I lived and was more expensive than I have paid in the past, however seeing the progress in the initial few months was worth every penny and mile! He oozes positivity and will make sure every session ends on a high. There is no ‘can’t’ with Steve, he makes you believe that you can achieve anything, and you do! The techniques he uses now mean that I will do whatever it takes to smash the goals that I set out to achieve. I am so much more confident and positive and push myself harder than I ever have done before. Although I only train with him for two hours per week, I feel like I have known him forever. And that is because his training doesn't stop in the gym. He gives constant guidance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from meal suggestions to re-motivating after a bad day. Not only that, but the gym and fitness family that he has built up is incredible. My fight was a success... I applied everything that I had learnt with Steve in practice and he was there to make sure I had the motivation before, during and after my time in the ring. This meant I walked away with a 3rd win and a continued clean card. Since then I have competed on stage in 2 physique competitions (something I had never even dreamed possible) but again, with the guidance and nutritional information that Steve gave me, I was stage ready within the 12 weeks preparation time, placing 3rd place in Fitness Wellness.

Above all the main thing that Steve has taught me, is that my hardest competition is myself. And as long as you can beat that, you'll never go wrong."
